Kehtna Põhikool - Estonia
Kehtna Primary School is situated in the country near the town of Rapla and 60 km from our capital Tallinn. Kehtna has about 2000 inhabitants. Kehtna Põhikool is next to magnificent forest. Not far away is the Keava bog. There are a lot of fields around Kehtna.
There are 190 students and 20 teachers in the school. They have good exam results and competitions in different subjects. There are extra-curricular subjects, which include: acting, folk dancing, singing, music, art wrestling, football and other sports.
They have an eco-friendly attitute and are a Green Flag school. From the 2003/2004 school year the school has belonged to the Eco-schools Union, where they got the Green Flag for their successful water saving project. Then in 2004/05 they got Green Flag for a project involving garbage.

Thay have taken part in international projects like Comenius1 MEGRE (European Model for School Wastes Management), in which they co-operated with Spanish and Portuguese schools. They have taken part in the COPE (Children have the right for a healthy living - a rich nature, a clean environment and space for outdoor life) project with countries in northern Europe.
